Bose S1
I think everyone is coming to the same conclusion I did. It’s a nifty little compact L1C. It’s expensive, and there is other stuff on the market that works as well. But, if you have the dough, and need something smaller than the L1C, and like the Bose sound, it’s a good option. To me it sounds the same as the L1C. Just a smaller and more limited package. The battery is a nice touch. And they improved the mixer. I assume they will replicate this mixer setup on an update L1C in the future.
The benefit for me with this purchase is that there is nothing left to obsess over. It’s all there. No preamps, cables, add ons, improvements, etc. are required for me to use it. And, I paid the price for that convenience.

Bose S1
Looks like I’ll be testing mine tonight at a “gig”, of sorts. My wife and I are cooking and serving a dinner for the local homeless shelter and they asked if I would provide some music too. Music? Did you say music!? Well, since you asked!!! :-)

Fantastic, Martingitdave
I did something similar 2 weeks ago for the homeless shelter. Amazing experience. I wish you a great "gig" |

Which of you early adopters is going to take the plunge and adopt a T4 or T8?

For now, I'm still trying to figure out all the differences, advantages and enhancements over the T1. Here is what I have come up with so far... additional features over the T1. - Updated, studio-quality effects with advanced digital audio processing - Four high-quality audio preamps with XLR-combo jacks - Two ToneMatch outputs for digital audio and power - Two Aux sends, and Two Aux inputs for additional sources - USB-A and -B for USB drive playback or PC/Mac interfacing - Independent headphone and balanced ¼" TRS stereo outputs |

easier mounting
supposedly better illumination according to Bose Don't mean to hijack this thread, there's another T4S/T8S thread. But would of course like to know what happens when an S1 marries a T4 |

That's very close to what you have with the Elite Acoustics D6-8.

I have in fact been following that thread with great interest.

Seems a bit much to have 4 channels going into a single 6.5” speaker.

I was thinking of my keyboard duo partner--we both sing--and we also know a harmonica player very good and willing to pop in now and then. Now I need at least five channels Edit: That's not in reference to the S1, thinking L1 Compact & up. |

Hard to imagine a 6.5" speaker is great for vocals-- seeing as many great guitar amps with 8" speakers struggle with vocals -- but I give the company props for progressive design.

Well the EAE D6-8 has an 8" speaker paired with a 1" tweeter and it sounds fantastic multiple channels. Actually, I expect the S1 Pro to sound equally good in spite of the size. Bose is pretty good at challenging the laws of physics!
