I'm going to offer a dissenting opinion. On the one hand, I agree that the site looks great, and it's a long-overdue update. There was obviously a lot of time and effort put into it, and it comes across as polished and classy.

OTOH, it's not dial-up-friendly. In particular, the Guitars page takes a long time to load with all those thumnails. I also found that page a little confusing to navigate, and prefer pulling up lists by series, as on the old design. That page is also built for a larger screen resolution than I like, or a larger monitor. At 800x600 (as far as I want to go with a 17" monitor), I have to scroll sideways to see everything.

Unfortunately, I also have to agree about the picture of Chris Martin. I understand his pride in the company, but at the risk of sounding like a Martin basher (especially on this forum!) I think it's a bit much. I think the small picture of him from the old site was more appropriate.

I give them an A for overall artistry, but a C for execution in regard to the average dial-up surfer.

I agree. I've got cable modem and it takes a short while to load

Until Martin can build a decent Monkey Butt case, I will not even consider them!

Huge improvement! I still don't know why they're so tight-lipped about the materials they use - High pressure Laminate and Micarta. I would think that'd be high on their FAQ list. The fact that they don't offer any explanation, seem like they're embarassed about it. As a Martin owner, I'd like to know.

To answer Ryan from an earlier post. Yes I was talking about the Geib case.

It's better but I still dont' like it.

It almost seems lazy that the entire site is they're brochures.

No individual info for each model, most of the brochures haven' been updated for years.

Pictures are better but that doesn't say much.

I'd really like to see some detail shots liek Taylor has and Breedlove has on their sites.

I also like Larrivee's site but they've been working on it forever.

Hopefully it will be done soon.

Martin doesn't build cases. They buy them from the same company Taylor does

I wouldn't bash Martins, but CFM IV is an ugly cuss.

My one friend thought he looked like Ned Flanders. Not very nice. He's a geniunely nice guy. Definitely the type of guy you'd invite to your Thanksgiving dinner.
