Very loose fitting hex key in truss rod nut.. help
Ok, I'm an idiot... I got this Garrison guitar.l not made any more so I can't find specs. On it,, well I think there is too much play in the hex key and I have tried the next size up will not fit,, so,,, I may need to go SAE.. but I think it is using a 5mm and there is just a lot of slop on the key.. infact I do not wish to try adjust the neck any more because it feels like it may round out soon.. I don't know how truss rods are constructed.. is the nut a replaceable item.. I know you can replace a fender strat and the like when you round out the truss nut... a barel nut? but are acoustics built in the same manner.. it will I have to replace the entire truss rod assembly.. it's not stripped yet.. it is just too sloppy to trust..
Like I said I'm an idiot. But I could use some help

I think I will just buy a gripper tapered truss rod wrench.. stewmac sells them.. seems like the ticket.

3/16"? 5.5mm is pretty close.

Scuzzo, that tapered wrench that StuMac sells works great. I bought a Martin with a truss rod socket badly worn and that wrench did the trick.
