A bearclaw sitka top with a new rosette for us. This will be paired with some wild koa and bound in BRW. Tell us what you think of this design.

Said back and sides for an SJ. It will have an arm bevel and soundport. We'll post more shots closer to completion.

Hope everyone is having a nice day.
I am not sure if I was to post here, but that rosette and top are super cool. I love the teardrop shape and especially love how blue the abalone is. It is abalone isn't it? Also what is the dark wood of the rosette made of? I really like the whole look. Fantastic, did I say I liked it? Great job!

Tom,
Thanks for posting. The wood is curly koa like the back and sides. In fact the rosette was made from leftover pieces of the back. So you'll see how rich the body will become under finish. The blue is paua and the borders are a little bit of Kevin Ryan's zipflex (which looks like black pearl).

Thanks for the vote of approval. We're hoping for some positive response at Memphis.

Wow I love that too. This one is going to be a real show stopper!!!! That is a great way to tie in the rosette. Awesome, you guys must have something in the air down in Texas these days as your creative juices are flowing overtime! I love how the little "floret" there overlaps the border stripping!

That is just great Bro. I'm moving my table to the back of the room. (Also getting my pencil sharpened. Nothing like a little sibling rivalry to get motivated )

Thanks bro, but as our tables will be next to each other's in Memphis, we're working hard to keep up the neighborhood...not embarrass you too much.

Steve

Default Memphis Guitar Festival

For those who are considering coming to the festival, there are only about 60 days left for advanced sales....after that, it's full price for tickets and workshops (whatever will be available at that time). Graceland and Beale street will NOT be offered at the festival as we have to arrange for buses well in advance. The last day for advance tickets is May 18th. Also, the best price for airfare is generally 60-90 days before. Hope to meet many of you there.
Bob

For those of you who have NOT signed up you need to do that soon. It's gonna be a great time so save a few dollar now and spend it in Memphis.

I am excited to see what all the luthiers have built just for this show!

Default Memphis Guitar Festival

Thanks guys! By the time this show starts, I will have put 18 months of work and planning into this festival...talking with each and every luthier plus past and current festival producers. More 10-12 hour days than I can ever remember, but those of you who know me or have come to know me...have seen the passion that surrounds this festival. My hope that this festival will not only be a fantastic festival (as it certainly seems it will, with orders coming in every single day), but an event that people will remember for years to come (BB Kings & Graceland, helping with that)...at least until 2017 when the next one will be even more special! Please remember to tell everyone on your social media that advance ticket sales end May 18th and the substantial savings will end at that point...plus Beale Street bus ride and Graceland Option will be sold out well before that.
THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!

Default Memphis Guitar Festival

Just a heads up, as of 4/6/15 there are only 9 seats left for the Memphis - Graceland option (Festival tickets required). If you want Graceland to be part of your experience, buy now, as I expect Graceland to be sold out by Wednesday.
