Default Roland AC-33

Did anyone at NAMM get a chance to try one of these out?

IMO, it looks like what the Cube Street should have been (I really liked the form factor of the Cube Street, but didn't like the sound/effects).

They are supposed to be shipping in January (this year?..

Looks just perfect for my motorcycle amp.....

WTF? No mic stand mount for the AC-33, while the KC-110 has one?

There's one on the BA-330 as well. Makes you wonder who makes these design decisions.

Have you verified that there's no pole mount or are you going by the fact that roland doesn't show it mounted on a stand on their web sites for the AC33?

They have two different web sites set up for the AC33 now. Neither has a manual to examine to see if it can be pole mounted. It's possible it does have one but they just forgot to mention it.

If it doesn't have one and Roland doesn't wise up and add one, there's always the option to buy a pole cup and install it yourself as long as there's room between the speakers.

Actually, I haven't verified it, but Roland brags about the kc-110 pole mount in its description and also shows the amp on a micstand in the photo, as well as listing the stand as an accessory.

The Ac-33 description has absolutely no mention of a pole mount, and in my experience, if Roland doesn't brag about it, it ain't there.....

But I hope I'm wrong.............

Yes roland is usually pretty thorough listing features on their web site. I'm holding out hope it has one, or if it doesn't they'd consider adding one in the future.

I contacted roland and they verified that the AC-33 will not have a pole mount.

Yeah, they told me the same thing. Said the cabinet was too fragile, and the mount wouldn't fit with the interior configuration, or something like that...

Well, I'll be interested in how it sounds...

Well, the AC-33 just arrived at Sweetwater (4 of 'em), so one is on its way to me. If I'm lucky it will be here Friday, otherwise Monday.

Will let you know my thoughts on it when I check it out.....

For me, it is really a tossup between the KC-110 and the AC-33. I don't really use the chorus (but it is nice to have the option), and I'm not exactly sure what the "ambience" does. Also the KC-110 has a pole mount, and the AC-33 does not - I use the polemount on my Mobile Cube all the time in intimate settings (I use it with a desk stand, which works great).

I hope my local store is getting in a KC-110, so I'll have an opportunity to check them out side-by-side......

I think the ambience widens the stereo perception.
