Chord progression symbols for Railroad Bill et.al.
When people use symblols like I IV V I to explain chord progressions, what would they use for songs like Railroad Bill, Freight Train and similar ones which have this progression if played in C?
C - - - - - - - - -C Railroad Bill, Railroad Bill E - - - - - - - - - - - - F He never worked and he never will My guess is I III IV, but I didn't find this progression listed on some fairly comprehensive web sites such as Olav Torvund's page at http://www.torvund.net/Guitar/progressions/index.asp . |

One thing to watch out for is that any out of key chords either use flats or sharps. For example, C#7 in the key of C would be bII7.

What's the 'b' mean? Art Doh - never mind - Flatted II, right? Art Last edited by 12strings2hands; 10-19-2006 at 06:24 AM. Reason: Doh moment - b means flat |
