Default Straps!!

So this has probably been discussed so don't slam me but here goes I have a new Martin that I installed a pickup in and have a narrow 1/4 strap button.
What is the best guitar strap to use with this application? These can be troublesome to attach and keep attached and I do not want some cheap looking strap on a nice guitar. Thanks for your kind advise.

I think you may want to check out one of these Acoustic Strap Secures sold by Stew Mac.

Or alternatively, order one of Sully's superb hand-made straps, and specify that the butt-end of the strap should be made to fit an endpin-jack. Sully will cut the correct-size hole, and skive the leather to the correct thickness. I have five Sully's straps, they are excellent.

I get it, I have found a couple of things that work for me. I have a Levy's Suede strap (very beautiful, but kinda heavy), and a Walker Williams strap (also beautiful, and less expensive).

I use a Tapastring on one, and the Planet Waves "Cinchfit" endpin keeper on the other. I have had good results with both, the Tapastring is great in its attractiveness and simplicity, and the Planet Waves works with a drawstring closure that stays tight on the endpin jack and seems very secure when I have used it.

For sure give 'em a look. And go to the Walker Williama site as well.

Hope this helps.

ymmv.

Same.

Daddario also makes a cinch strap lock. Great product for any strap.

This wil solve your problem without altering the size of the strap hole in a quality strap.

I'll second this.
The Tapastring device also keeps the jack unobstructed. Plug or unplug at will.

I tried the Cinchfit and it works. But, I did not care for having a big chunk of plastic attached to the endpin of my guitar. Plus, I think over time it will wear the finish on the end of the guitar around the jack.

A third or forth vote for Pat Sullivan at Sully’s Straps. They are the Elliott Capos of the strap world. Expensive, but worth the up charge because they are finely crafted and work flawlessly.
