Cool Buying an acoustic

Hey Guys.
I've been playing guitar now for about a year and i'm now looking to get rid of my first guitar. it's hard to play and sounds pretty terrible.
Do any of you have any knowledge/advice on what sort of acoustic to get? (price range approx. £400/$600).
I'm on the lookout for a mellow sound, almost classical. i don't actually play classical so it sounds a bit daft but that's the sort of sound i'm after.
Other than that, any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers*

Cool

If your looking for a classical guitar Takamine make a nice Classical in that price range. If your wanting a steel string in that price range Id be looking into a quality used guitar with light strings A nice Takamine NEX, Washburm concert series,or a Tacoma just to name a few. Just make sure that you get a solid top on it. JW
