Default MXR Dynacomp

I have one. They are great with single coil pickups. I wouldn't suggest them for humbuckers or acoustic guitars.

The Dynacomp is pretty noisy for an acoustic. Check out the Maxon.

Then I think the MXR has that classic stomp compressor thing. The maxon is more of the clean, limiter, type of compression. If you're looking for the ultimite in noisy chick'n pick'n, and or the funk tone, look for an old Orange Squeezer.
