Very powerful rendition on this song - I think the scaled back guitar and relatively soft vocals gives it powerful emotion.

Do you memorize each song that you record? It looks like it. If you have a chord sheet, you hide it well.

Although I love your weekly posts, I'd be happy with one a month in 2012. I already have quite a number of the songs you've brought that I need to learn - and I'm getting quite bogged down.

Cheers,
Steve
Hey, thanks Steve! I'm glad you enjoyed this one. I'm not playing out a lot at the moment. My wife and I recently moved, so I'm trying to get established in a new place. Currently I've been doing some busking at farmers markets to get my card out there for people.

I don't memorize the songs, no. I do get the chords and choruses pretty cemented in my mind each week, and there are some songs that I've played enough that I could probably do them without charts, but I've always got my binder full of songs with me. I do try to hide it in the video, just to make it more of a presentation, but if you watch my videos you can see my eyes shift to a specific spot off camera where the words are located. In my earlier videos I have the camera (my smartphone) resting on the music stand.

I'm really liking the idea of doing a monthly feature for 2012. It would certainly be more manageable. Maybe semi-monthly if I could find the groove. I definitely need to write more of my own stuff, so perhaps a monthly double feature? One cover and one original? That shouldn't be too difficult...

Thanks for watching!

Bel isi,
