If the Velcro works, go for it, like previously mention - its your guitar and you can do what you want to. With my own set up, it's several on the Dunlop pick up holder on the mic stand.

Otherwise, inside right ear. Extra pick or handy storage if fingerpicking. Surprised (?) no one has mentioned this.

Or if you use a thumb pick you can use it for both fingerstyle and soloing.

The mouth is a common place to temporarily store a pick. You know we all do it.

Another story. I got to see Sonny Sharrock one time in NYC. He played hard, and whatever sort of picks he used, he broke frequently during the show. He must have kept several picks in his mouth at a time, because every time one broke, he'd just fling the shard across the stage and produce another pick from his mouth....

I don't think that would work if you are also singing, though.
