A few...

"The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys" on my 12 string...

"Trans-Island Skyway" by Donald Fagen as an acoustic blues-y romp...

"Another Star" by Stevie Wonder on 12 string...

There is so much great music that I truly love; when I can get a tune to a place where I can approximate a decent groove for it, I'll do it! Some songs I can't quite get a handle on, so I pass... but most songs can be performed in a listenable manner, with a bit of work...

Hey! It's been so long since I played it on electric that I now only think of Two Out of Three as an acoustic song.

Here is a video of my band Ophir Creek doing "Can't You See" Last summer.
Go to 1 hour 20 minutes to see it.

Do you have a song like that? Something no one would expect to hear from a solo acoustic player?

“Start Me Up” and “Shook Me All Night Long” usually get a few surprising reactions.

I've found just about anything can be rearranged for acoustic and vocals.

Three here:

1. Red Dirt Road (Brooks & Dunn)
2. Stay a Little Longer (Brothers Osborne)
3. Proud Mary (Creedence Clearwater Revival)

And my favorite rearrangement: though not really surprising:

1. Time after Time (Cyndi Lauper)

Every Breath you Take - the Police. It's a stretch for the fingers but worth it.

I learned a great version of Billy Joel's "Just The Way You Are". People don't expect it because Billy is a piano man. It's lots of fun.
