Looks beautiful, John (of course). It's missing a cutaway, though. Will you add one later?

Thanks Jamie. Of course, you know how the Kinnaird brothers do cutaways. It’s the last thing, right after we finish the guitar and get it strung up. This guitar will have a Venetian cutaway.

Smile Balance....

You know its possible that your collection is still Taylor heavy. You probably should bring some balance to your guitar stable with another Kinnaird. I could suggest a Brazilian parlor with a cedar top, and koa bindings, short scale, unnaturally loud with a bass that begins somewhere underground and trebles that recall ice water and mountain streams of glacial origin. Something to snuggle up with on the couch while you wait for the Corona virus to pass.
Just a thought
Now down to one RT, and two 90s Taylors... assuming the pending deal for my 96 514c goes thru!

Balance has occurred....

Wheels turning!

Cheers

Paul

Steve you know I’m just kidding. There’s a story behind those comments.

Smile Again....

I can't resist. It is futile.

I have sent John the Ernest money. We are talking about the reverse of Steve's BIG GUN, in this thread.

Braz back and sides, Fretboard, bridge, and probably faceplate. Probably plain looking quartersawn Brazilian RW, but highly figured Koa for all the appointments.

Dang the torpedos! ROCK THE JOINT!!!

Paul

OK Paul!! As you know, I've recently become a huge fan of quarter sawn Brazilian RW with highly figured Koa binding and appointments! . I think this is a really good option for this next JK. And resistance is kind of futile!!!

Congratulations!

And I'm a huge fan of koa guitars too! And Steve and John, this one is looking gorgeous! Having played a number of Paul's JK customs, I know it is going to sound incredible.

What a great thread with a great guitar in progress!

Smile Progress???

Hey John

I know you are supposed to be "retired" but I am hoping for a progress report on this BEAST

Especially as it will make our next build even closer...

Hope all is well in the Mountains of NC!

Salud!

Paul

Retired from teaching school but still nailing guitars together. Body came back from Tony's shop yesterday. I'm in the process of refitting the neck and removing finish from the bridge footprint, prior to gluing it down.
