Stay relaxed and have fun! Both your players and your audience will pick up on your vibe.

Something will not go as planned, just go with it.

More people will come back because of how it feels, not necessarily because of how it sounds.

Thanks or all the suggestions. All good input.

As far as suggesting that I have an extra capo , picks, 9v batteries etc, .. I don't think so. And I will not have a "Loaner Guitar" available. The advertisement specifically says "no house guitar available"

I have been to open mics before where working musicians show up and try to play a set. The advertisement clearly states" Armature performers", but hard to tell who's who sometimes until they get up. I like the idea of 15 min time slots. If time left over, glad to have repeat performer.

Yes, I will be hovering nearby , near the mixer, and I will not be leaving my equipment alone .

Mostly, I want everyone to have fun and feel comfortable.!

Default First Time Hosting Open Mic- advise?

Good luck!
I actually hosted my first Open Mic last night. What a blast!
What I have enjoyed at Open Mics I’ve been to in the past and what I incorporated into mine is the ability to give the performers a recording of their performance. I used my Apogee MiC plugged into my iPad and made videos of the performers and then emailed the videos to them.
People seem to like having a recording or a video of what they’ve done. Other than that I don’t have any other useful suggestions.
Just have fun!
