I used a QSC k8.2 for a short time with the X6. Worked fine. The QSC was a backup to the Bose S1 for when more power was needed, which was never. So we sold it and bought a second S1. We still use the X6. Great digital mixer.

Thanks, Scott. I remember now that you use to use a QSC powered speaker. I know that you’ve been pretty happy about going all wireless.

I just want mention that the D6-8ii is now 80 rather than 40 watts RMS. I had mine updated to the new specs. I just did a little outdoor mini concert in a park in my neighborhood and the D6-8 handled it perfectly.

Just so that anyone wondering about the output differences, it's all in the name. The D6-8 MkII is 80 watts and the original D6-8 only had 40. More power yet with the D6-58, which puts out 120 watts and only weighs 2 lbs. more at 30 lbs.

Are there other difference between the mkI and mkII than the 40 vs 80watt?

In Norway it is:
Total of 853 euro for the A4-8 mkII (Thomann)
Total of 650 euro for the A4-8 mkI (gear4music.no)
(included shipping and tax)

Is the mkII worth the price difference?

I have the MKII 80 watt. It has 6 channels and the mixer. It weighs 28 lbs but is easily carried. It has the onboard mixer and blue tooth functionality. I have started using it with my Play Acoustic and switch 6 which gives it great flexibility and limitless fun. My neighbor who is a live music nightclub owner said he never heard a guitar sound better. I think the vocals sound even better! I loved it before the foot switch but now it's even better. Wasn't such a fan of the Play Acoustic before but with this amp I love it. Can't wait to use it at the marina where I play the most as this is way better than my previous setups and is easy to setup and use

The best advantage to the d6-58 over the d6-8 mk2 is the side pole mount. Allowing you to
view the screen and controls when the amp is
up on a pole. The d68 is set it and forget it
if you need it up high. Which seems always to
be the case.

Yes imho . Ive had the d-68 for years. And found
myself questioning constantly whether to bring another speaker (qsc k10) in case it was too big a room or too loud an audience. Several times i went up against the limits and got distortion.
I sent it back in for the upgrade and couldnt be
happier. EAE makes an awesome product.

I’m not aware of any other difference than the battery. I only shipped them the board to do the upgrade, so the speaker, inputs, connections, were all the same to attach back. Notable difference in output before break up.

Yeah, if you include the D6-58, then it's 120 watts.

Yeah, that and the 120 watt output.

Even more headroom with the 80 vs 120.

Yes all that... but his question was what the difference between the mk1 and mk2. not
what the difference between d68 and d6-58
also you now have a Lipo batteries instead of
LA batteries.

The D6-58 is still pertinent to the conversation and if he's not interested, maybe others are.

I agree. The features on both amps are the same. The sound quality is the same. For most jobs, either model would work exceedingly well. But every so often the extra headroom of the D6-58 would be really great!

It'd be great if there was a video review of the D6-58. the official videos don't even showcase it that much. Would love to get it but it's way beyond the price of an impulse purchase.
