Leo Kottke is in top form
I just returned from a trip to Portland, Maine (drove from east coast Canada) to see Leo Kottke play at One Longfellow Square.
I saw him last 14 years ago (again in Portland) and his playing is as spot on as it was then. I'm always amazed at his precision and control over the guitar. It inspires me... so much so I just paid $45 for a transcription to "Oddball" (shipping to Canada is crazy). He's as funny as hell too. |

I agree. We saw him at a small local venue in May and he put on an incredible show. He’s an amazing guitarist and a very funny individual. He seems to come around every year and we always catch his show. This last time I was inspired to learn Pamela Brown and tried to download the song, but it is not available for download. The song was on his 1974 CD Ice Water. I was able to purchase that CD from Amazon and then download the songs from the CD to my digital library. Now if I could only do the song justice.

Lucky you! I saw him 35 years ago and loved him. The song, "Sonora's Death Row " from Burnt Lips brings tears to my eyes.
I'm going to check if he's coming to Chicago.

I saw Leo three time - the last time was probably about 15 years ago. I love his songs and his playing. He's truly spectacular.

Leo Kottke
I'd love to see him. Strange that he never plays anywhere around Athens even though he was born here.
