Wow, some good reviews. I am getting ready to pull the trigger on an X7 or a Cargo RT, and then sell my Voyage Air OM-1C.
These both sound like great guitars, and I'm looking forward to trying Kramsters Cargos today. Why does the Cargo OX get such great reviews? How is it different from other models? I have to say, I too was mighty impressed with the X7 when I played it a few months back.

Huh? The string gauge has a huge effect on both tone and volume in my experience. Ditto to the above gitnoob. And thanks for the heads up with the mediums, After recording my dred and then the little Cargo, both played the same piece in an aggresive attack and then with a much softer approach. After listening to them played back I find the sound from the little Cargo is absolutely incredible, it's not a dred, but hey, waddya want from a travel guitar. Cheers buddy.... |

The OX is their OM model. While the Cargo is great for what it is, the OX has a much more refined tone and feel. If you like the longer scale, I could easily see an OX as someone's only guitar, while the Cargo is more of a niche player.

Could not agree more. The Cargo is great but that short scale is very limiting and the more you play it the more you will notice it..
