Default Baggs Para DI with active pickups

I just bought a Para DI (haven't received it yet) to give me some EQ capabilities. You can see in my sig that I have two active pickups. I assume the pickup volume setting vs gain setting on the Para DI just a matter of trial and error to find the sweet spot, right? What would be a good starting point? I will be plugging into a mixer (not sure yet if I'll use the 1/4 or the XLR output of the preamp.)

I generally set my pickup volumes around 60-75% before setting gains on the outboard preamp and mixer.
