For at least the X-20, it is straight-forward to install most aftermarket pick-ups, because it’s easy enough to get your hand in and out of the offset soundhole (assuming your forearms are reasonably sized). The obvious exception is soundhole mag pickups, which just don’t work with the offset soundhole.

If the installation jig uses the string holes (which would be bridge pin holes on most guitars) as guides, should be no problem, just line them up.

I can’t say if the situation is the same for the smaller Emerald instruments — it may be more challenging to get your hands in there on the slimline ones for example.
