Ry Cooder - The Prodigal Son
Just bought this cd - fab album with great selection of songs and stellar musicians.
Really enjoy hearing Cooder play, and he sings well on this album. Got most of his back catalogue, and this imo is up there with the good records he made in the early/mid 70s. Rich |

I agree, from what I’ve heard, Mr. Cooder is in fine form on this album, both playing & singing.

These are live from the sessions, but versions omitted from the album.
I like this version of "Stranger right" better than the album version. It really swings. |

I liked the live versions better too.

I've been listening to Prodigal Son for a month or so and I agree, Dronfield. It is an excellent album. It has a great atmosphere to it, fine playing, interesting arrangements, superb production, and the singing is perfect for the songs. Easily among my current top five in rotation.
