Default Georgia on my Mind Tutorial

After I put up my YouTube video performance of "Georgia on my Mind" a few weeks ago I had a couple of YouTube subscribers ask for a tutorial on the song. So this is it.

I tried to do as little talking as possible, but at the back half of the tutorial I provide some background on the chords used in the song to help people make sense of the way I played this song.

I concentrated on the fretting hand positions and chord shapes for this song rather than picking hand information, which on a song like this is pretty free form, anyway.

I hope this might be helpful to anyone interested in learning this song.

- Glenn

Wow Glenn, once again, a home run on your tutorial. Playing a piece is one thing, but teaching is yet another competency altogether. Your patience with this is remarkable.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your talents.

I hope you and your family are well and that the flowers are blooming all around you.

Roger

Thank you Roger!

It's very nice of you to take the time to watch and to provide a comment here! Much appreciated!

We do have a few flowers out. The daffodils are in bloom here all over the place. It looks lovely, especially when the sun comes out.

Wonderful, clearly laid out tutorial.

I'm sure many guitar players with less knowledge of chord shapes than you possess, will be loving learning this song from your lesson here.

The chord diagrams, and the explanations of the voicing of the bar chords (Bm, Am7, etc), should make it easy peasy! You're not only teaching the song, but teaching a bit more about navigating around the fretboard, which people can use in other songs that they are trying to learn.

Fantastic all the way around!

Very helpful tutorial with the different camera angles and synchronized chord tabs! Must have taken a lot of effort. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Andre',

I appreciate your taking time to comment.

Yes, it does take a fair amount of time, particularly the making of those custom chord charts. However, most of the people who sign up as subscribers on my channel do so because of the tutorials. The tutorials are a way I have of giving back to folks a little bit.

I hope all is well for you, Andre'!

Very generous Glenn. And thoughtful for novice and intermediate players to get them to feel this one is approachable for them too. Wonderful.

Thank you Started!

How nice to obtain feedback from you!

A song like this is probably more suited to an intermediate player, but a beginner who goes after this will likely become an intermediate player pretty quickly if he/she can master the guitar playing concepts in this song.

Thanks for taking the time to comment Started!
