Default Remove or not?

I hate stickers. But these are a pain to remove. Especially the CE sticker. And I dont need a reminder not to throw my Telecaster in the garbage, so is there any reason to leave these on? What do yo do?

I have a 2001 and a 2005 American Strat and a 2004 Mexi. I just checked and they all have the "CE" sticker. Since I didn't even know they were there it doesn't bother me.

What does "CE" even mean?

It means it conforms to EU environmental standards. For an electric guitar, that probably means lead-free solder.

There's a prison camp in the middle of nowhere, where they send all those people who tear off the "Do Not Remove Under Penalty Of Law" tags from their mattresses...

Don't even ask what they do if you remove that CE sticker...

I'm surprised that 20 years ago Fender was already affixing an EU environment standard sticker on the US made guitars, but they're on mine.

CE stands for "Conformité Européenne" which is French for European Conformance or Conforming (not a French speaker). It means the device meets all applicable standards for electricity, environmental, etc and can be freely sold and traded across the EU and won't cause issues. It's similar to the UL or CSA markings used in North America.

It never would occur to me to consider removing a CE decal.

Absolutely remove it. Stupid stickers put on by order of the tax collectors is not something appealing whatsoever.
