Wow, that is one of the best veneers I have seen, at least to my taste. Congrats, enjoy that thing.

you know with all the veneer options available it can be difficult to pick just one. I just went with my gut feeling. I was watching the February veneer unboxing video and when this pau ferro was shown I immediately said that one. The problem was choosing between the sets of dark pau ferro. In the end it certainly is a 'personal taste'.

will let you know after I play it for a while. I felt more of a difference when I first played it than I would have thought, however after a couple of minutes it felt natural. I am a Gibson electric player so I am used to playing shorter scales but that is with a pick, fingerstyle (which is what I play on acoustic) is slightly different.

Great decision-making, great result. I look forward to more on how you like the short scale.

That really is a lovely looking guitar. I much prefer the more subtle veneers, and that, along with the gold inlays and trim, is a very classy combination.
Looking forward to more detailed impressions as you get to spend some time with it.

That is one pretty guitar! I know you had a special neck done because of the inlays and scale length , but did you request a special neck width, something narrower than their standard thick n wide neck profile?

The Emerald is 2 1/4" at the 12th fret. Funny how such a minimal size difference is immediately obvious. When I picked the guitar out of the case for the first time,by grasping the neck, my brain immediately recognized the difference. Now as for playing, it absolutely makes no difference, I never wrap my left thumb around past the 2 nd fret for any of my acoustic playing. |

It always amazes me how strings really do make such a huge difference. Hence the million string threads on this forum. Now I just have to PLAY!!!!! Hopefully, I will record something this weekend and post. |
