Default '34-35 Slingerland Songster revived- clip added

I have a number of arch tops to bring back into playing condition. Nothing grand, but nice This 1934 Slingerland Songster Style 81 is one of 'em. Badly-needed neck reset completed. The neck is bowed but I have it decent playing action up to the 15th fret. The bow and the "hump" make it buzz when I have the action down to 3/32" on the E and 1/16" on the e. I have a couple of options- relieve the "hump", compression frets, or just leave it alone.

The guitar is in very good condition otherwise. Tuners work great. I have light John Pearse Pure Nickels on it and it sounds fine. It's a solid top (pressed, I'm sure) with laminate Maple back & sides. 1 3/4" nut. BRW fretboard. Replaced bridge (original was missing and it came with a broken/repaired bridge). Nice burst. The fretboard is really brittle. I had some problem pulling the 15th fret to steam off the neck- most chipping I've ever encountered.

Here are some pics

Here's a strictly rhythm clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He6hF80nmK4

Very nice. I assume the fingerboard is “ebonized pearwood” or something similar. They used it on their banjos, and, yes, it will chip like crazy.

It’s rosewood I’m sure, as all the vintage accounts mentioned. Plus it looks like BRW. But it’s uncommonly smooth. They may have finished it. I’m goin to try oiling it to see if absorbs anything. Rather than replace frets- which are in good condition- I’m going to address the “hump” at 14-15 frets and send it off

It’s going to a friend who doesn’t know he’s getting it
