Bummer for you.
With the scale length, the mediums work very well.

I have a Martin LX1Re I bought new about a year and a half ago. According to Martin, the guitar ships with Martin® Authentic Acoustic® Lifespan® 2.0 strings in medium (13-56) gauge.

I have a LX1E and I run D’Addario Mediums EJ17s I believe. They sound good. The guitar sounds great plugged in and is an absolute hoot to play.

In the Martin OM-18e I use the Newtone Masterclass 12/54 right now. I also really like John Pearse phosphor bronze

I've been considering trying a set of these. From what I've been reading here on the AGF they may be the best available.

How do the lights sound on your OM acoustically? I imagine they would be just fine plugged in.
