Arrow SOLD: Custom J Kinnaird Englemann/Waterfall Bubinga OM Cutaway...drool worthy!!

Custom J Kinnaird Englemann/Waterfall Bubinga OM Cutaway...unreal!!

MINT condition

The cash crunch continues...and the need for cash flow, hence this guitar is now for sale.

I had this guitar built also. John and I selected the woods, and collaborated on the design elements. The guitar is an OM size, 13 fret with a cutaway. The sound of this guitar gets better every time I play it. The wood...well...it speaks for itself. The Engelmann is some of the most pure I've ever seen with some amazing silking, and of course that piece of Bubinga is just WOWSER!! This guitar will be for sale until either this guitar or my other custom is sold, and then I will keep the one that doesn't sell.

The guitar plays beautifully and sounds friggin' amazing! I can't say enough about how great a job John did building this guitar. Someone who gets this one will be blown away.

The woods:

Englemann Spruce: also known as white, European or German spruce, although they are technically different species. It is usually visually distinguishable from Sitka by its creamier complexion. We’re almost out of the “good stuff.” Engelmann trees these days are so small and twisted that there is a fair amount of runout (grain that doesn’t run parallel to the surface) and as a result, mismatched tops. Sonically, Engelmann has a mature tone, and yields a slightly richer midrange than Sitka, which makes a guitar sound a bit older. Englemann Spruce (USA) Is prized for being similar in color to European (German) White spruce. Extremely light in weight, it seems to produce a slightly louder and "open" sound than Sitka spruce. It is thought to have the greatest overtones of any top wood. Grows in the American Rocky Mountains and the Pacific Cascades. Considerably limited supply.

Waterfall Bubinga: This wood, which comes from Africa, has a tremendously rich and full sound replete with warm even tones, a glassy ring, and a brilliant sparkle across the entire spectrum. It provides a slightly dark and woody overtone content with a low to mid end predominance- much like Indian Rosewood! Lots of volume too. Well balanced warm & rich tone with round basses and a fine mid range, bright trebles. Ample sustain without a sacrifice in clarity or separation in the mids and trebles.

Specs:

Nut width: 1 3/4
Top wood: Englemann Spruce
Back and sides: Waterfall Bubinga
Binding, bevels: Rosewood
Bound Sound port
Gold EVO frets
Arm and Rib bevels
Bone nut and saddle
Bone side position markers
Multi piece Laminated neck
String spacing 2 1/4
Lower bout width 15"
Lower bout depth 4'
Schaller Grand tune tuners
Hard shell case
Build date: late 2018

Price: Only SOLD plus shipping and Paypal. [I will consider reasonable offers and some trades with a major cash contribution. NO straight trades even considered...I don't need guitars, cash flow is the ONLY reason this is for sale!!

My God! This guitar is spectacular in every respect. The Bubinga has so much depth, it looks like you could crawl into it. BEAUTIFUL!

Best of luck with your sale Mike.

Yes it is. John has perfected a process for creating a cantilevered neck. One of his steps is to add carbon fiber "struts" inside the guitar to assure that stability is maintained for the life of the guitar. This guitar also has solid carbon fiber in the neck to create a more stable neck. Really incredible work if I do say so myself!

Smile Astonishing Axe!!!

Spectacular instrument from JK.

Super AGF seller in Mike/Woody!

Someone will be THRILLED with either of Mike's JKs.

I LOVE MINE, and am stoked John has begun the gathering of materials for my next or I would be sorely tempted myself.

I expect one or the other will move very soon!

Cheers

Paul

Thanks to everyone who has commented on this guitar. I have had a few expressions of interest and thanks to those people as well. And yes, the pictures, although are really nice, don't show the detail of this wood. What you don't see is the "3D" effect you get when you look at it. It's almost something I could liken to tiger eye quartz as it changes as you move it and the figure gives a "DEEP" look...Absolutely beautiful.

Wow!! That Bubinga might be the prettiest wood I’ve ever seen on a guitar.

Smile Pretty Indeed!!!

BTW, Memphis1 is the new owner of John Kinnaird and my Brown Bomb.

He says he is totally smitten, and it will be "very difficult to go back to factory built instruments."

The BB has some spectacular woods itself.

Whoever gets either one of Mike's JKs will be STOKED!

I say GO FOR IT!

Paul

Thanks Memphis1!! It is BY FAR the prettiest I've seen. It's like the waves of the ocean, it's just not blue. Absolutely stunning in person.
