Default Shelley sez "Uh-Oh!"

My Strat build with hidden DeArmond Dynasonics in open D. Playing through a 61 Tremolux bridged into a Fishman Loudbox Performer. Recorded on an iPhone 6s with a Shure MV88.

Enjoy!

Regards,
Howard Emerson

Now that .... is A BLAST! That guitar has a sound that speaks to me, and the performance caught and held my attention instantly.

So pleased that I could distract you for a little bit!

The original track is on The Wall Talks, my 4th release, and it's originally played on a National Resolectric with percussion.

Very nice guitar. I don’t ever recall you playing or mentioning that one. Is that a new custom build?

Nice forward flow with the muting in the bass and some of the accents on beat two. Thanks for sharing that.

Hi Andre,
I built this a couple of months ago. It's a Guitar Fetish body that I hogged out, and a pair of DeArmond Dynasonic pickups I got on eBay.

I bought a blank Strat pickguard, and then I had to very judiciously decide how to drill 24 perfect holes, with one chance.

Here's some pictures:

It came out pretty nicely. I mounted a Warmoth neck with a 1.75" nut, boatneck profile with 6100SS fret wire. The bridge is a Schaller 3D.

Glad you like it!

Regards,
Howard

Thanks Rick!

Actually I'm hardly muting at all, but I hear what you're hearing. The neck needs some relief, and I'm using lighter strings than I normally do. It's a .052 currently but really needs a .054-013.

As it is I'm getting a little too much fret slap because it's set dead flat, so it's immediately choking the note far more than I'm intending.

A work in progress.

That was cool, Howard!

It sounds great! It sounds like there is a little bit of a slap-back delay on the signal. It's very cool!

I like your homemade Strat! A different sound!

Hi Glenn,
You’re hearing the delay from the Fishman Loudbox. I'm plugged into a 61 Fender Tremolux amp-head that's in a 15" combo cabinet. The 2nd jack in channel 1 has a cord running to the Fishman, essentially bridging the 2 amps. I am only using tremolo on the Fender, but the Fishman has a bit of delay & chorus turned on.

No pedals were harmed in this video.

Howard
