Default Star Trek:Strange New Worlds

So far, so good.

Good old fashioned sci-fi. Back to just being Star Trek.

YMMV

Actually no not in particular, just happy to be back to the single episode format.

I don't mind when some character interaction is a back story throughout a show (romantic and otherwise), but generally the single story per episode is my favorite.

Although I watched every episode of Picard (with a lot of fast forwarding, ), I never really cared for the Q character and DATA, starting back in Star Trek Next Generation. Don't even get me started on Wesley,

I've enjoyed the new Star Trek: Strange New Worlds episodes very much.

BTW- Season 2 of Piccard was probably my least favorite Star Trek experience, and I've seen every Star Trek series in its entirety except for Star Trek: Enterprise.

Star Trek:Enterprise was actually pretty good. I didn't like the continuing saga of the last year and the ending was horrible, but otherwise a good Star Trek. (I binged watched a lot of Star Trek in 2020)

So far. I'm digging it. IMHO, way better than than the other Star Trek offerings from Paramount.

Certainly has a TOS vibe to it.

What is Star Trek Strange New Worlds? Is it all new characters? What's the timeline compared to the original / TNG?

Sounds like something I'd be interested in.

It’s a prequel, Dru. Captain Pike period. (I haven’t seen it yet, but am hearing good things. People seem to appreciate its low stakes stories rather than the fate of the entire universe hanging in the balance for an entire season. A sign of the times, I should think.)

Thanks Aimelie! I'll have to look it up to see if it's streaming anywhere. I'm a big Star Trek fan, at least with Next Generation, Voyager, and Enterprise - they were/are all amazing. I haven't seen a single Pickard episode yet though .

It's very good, Dru. Streaming weekly on Paramount. As mentioned it's like the good old days with great effects.

Thanks Larry. I'll have to check out my streaming options for Paramount in Canada, although I may wait until the full season is available (assuming it's a weekly show).

Picard is a lot of dialogue. Too much imo.

I like Picard, although agreed re quantity of dialogue. I don't want to spoil anything for those not yet assimilated, but I enjoyed the various thread/story line crossings.

But really, any Star Trek, anywhere, any time for me.
