Guessing Malkin would want at least 3 years in the $9-$10 M/year for his next contract, at a minimum? He's playing his cards by letting everyone know he can play in Russia for significant money. I'd be surprised if he decided to play in Russia next season.

Then a huge mistake as time was almost out and BAM! TB puts one in the net with .9 ticks left and they are down 2-0, at home. Game 3, on TB’s ice; is huge for them!

They've run into a team that's "Been There, Done That". They'll continue to improve, though. Players want to play there. Finally!

+1 Larry. The first round is always my favorite since there are 4 games every night and exciting to watch the upsets... unless of course your team makes it to the second round and then that gets more intense from a personal perspective.
I miss the Battle of Quebec, the "Battle of the Breweries". I loved the Nordiques, "Back in the Day". Best jerseys in NHL history.

What a weird game 2 in Raleigh. Rangers with no jump, played 60 minutes in a downshifted gear, and Carolina played right along with them. The Canes' backcheck was absolutely suffocating and for most of the game the puck bounced around aimlessly in center ice. Add to that Sean McDonagh's listless call and it was a brutal game to watch. McDonagh talks a lot but mostly it's stats and bios and why the coaches like this player so much. He calls it like it's a Red Sox game with lots of time to fill between pitches. Not surprising for Round 2 to lack some luster after that classic opening round.

I hear you. I know it sounds cliche, but how many times did the Rangers try to make that extra pass vs shooting the puck?!?!? I drives me crazy when teams do this. Barry Melrose has said: "They lost 1 to nothing, and they were lucky to get nothing."
Also, I bet they wish they could decline penalties!

McDavid is having an amazing playoffs. Great that he's in the second round and that he can have a greater audience to display his skills. The Battle of Alberta is turning out to be a classic series.

McDavid now has 23 points in his 10 playoff games this year! Only Gretzky and Lemieux have done better in the first 10 games. I was hoping that the Oilers would make it past the first round just so that he would have the audience. Many in the East coast rarely see the West coast games because they're so late.

OMG! McDavid is scary good. Uses his skates as another hockey stick.
You"re right about the late west coast games. Same reason I want to see Mike Trout in the playoffs.

Stunning to think that Mike Trout has won 3 MVPs and has come in 2nd in MVP voting 4 other times and yet he has played on 3 playoff games (I just checked out those stats to confirm).

Tampa Bay is a seasoned team for sure. I think they can make it out of the East.

How about the Oilers? Who would have thought they would be up 3-1 on Calgary after losing game One 9-6. They've always been my West team going back to the Gretzky days.

They are a force to be reckoned with, for sure. McDavid (sp?) is a phenom.
