Maton F10 Classical neck reset ?
Hi ,
I have on the bench the subject 1970 Maton with a neck that is parting from the body. Built 1970. Nylon stringed. Has anyone removed one of these necks and can give me a heads up on what to expect ? It doesn't appear to be a traditional dovetail joint. Thankyou, |

Maton typically use the traditional dovetail, i cannot remember if they ever made a spanish heeled neck on any of their guitars, this is a photo shot from a maton that i made a replacement neck for

Unless the dovetail was poorly fitted, I wouldn't expect the neck to be pulling away from the body. I suspect it may be a doweled or a straight tenon joint.
When I have doubts about a neck joint, I like to remove the entire fingerboard to scope it out. It has save my neck on several occasions. |
