I agree, and I've tried but got no response from Mods...

The only thing I can think of is to use the red triangle in the upper right corner to "report this post". If several of us did that for both sharing threads with some explanation, it MIGHT get their attention and something might happen. They combine multiple RIP threads all the time, so it should not be an insurmountable task. I don't want to burden the moderators with extra work, but this seems pretty important to the CF community.

Of course I will probably get suspended or banned for suggesting it.... It's been nice knowing you all.

I doubt that - but I do know from past experience () that the red triangle is intended to report egregious behaviour only. It goes to all the mods, and is akin to pulling the fire alarm - so that probably wouldn’t be justified for this case.

I think it's more akin to posting a message for the Mods to see...

Not what I was told when I used it for something quite innocuous a while back. YMMV.

This thread is a noble idea, but has anyone been visited by anyone else on the forum to check out their CF guitar?

If I were looking, I wouldn't search thru 7 pages of posts to try to find a specific guitar close enough to where I live. It'd be more appropriate if someone could create a spreadsheet with location vs models vs owner (with contact info like email).

(and it won't be me)

Another forum uses ZeeMaps for this purpose. Good idea, but it won't be me setting it up either.

And yes, I have had several visitors and inquiries that came though AGF. I consider myself a carbon fiber ambassador, and now have that designation from Emerald.

Once again, a bump to keep this on the first page.

I currently have:
Enya NEXG-2
Emerald X5 Nylon
Emerald X10 Slimline Nylon
Emerald X20 Nylon
Emerald X10 (steel) with humbucker and hexpander
Rainsong Flamenco (nylon)
Rainsong Dreadnought
Composite Acoustics GXi
Journey Overhead Classical Carbon Fiber
Outdoor Ukelele Guitar-lele

I do currently have the Rainsong Dreadnought, Journey Overhead, CA GXi, and X20 Nylon up for sale, so those might drop off the list at any time.

I'm in Fairfax Station, VA. I'm happy to meet with people and play guitar with them.

I'm supposedly an Emerald Ambassador, but I'm still not on their map that I can tell.

I'm down to just one carbon fiber now. I have a McPherson Sable. It's cold in Dallas so I'm moving south to San Leon, TX today. If you're in the area and want to play a Sable, I'll see if we can meet up.

Just up the road in League City is Danny D's Guitar Hacienda. They are listed as a McPherson dealer. I just don't recall seeing one in their shop.

Big shoutout to @Brianfertilizer for meeting up and letting me play his Emerald X20 Nylon, X10 steel string and CA Gxi. All fantastic guitars. I have a CA GX, and I thought the GXi definitely has more bass. I also see what all the hype is about Emeralds. They were two of the most comfortable guitars I’ve played and sounded great too.

Meeting Dave was great!
Showed me a really cool progression for Chicago's "Only the Beginning," too!

I'm still game to meet up with anyone who wants to try an Emerald, or compare with a Composite Acoustics.

I'll try to set up an Emerald Jam later this year, too.

Default I have 2 unique ones

Emerald X20 - 1 11/16" nut width and 14" radius
Rainsong WS1000 - N1 neck

You rarely see an X20 with this nut width. For me, the neck profile was too wide down the neck. Although I prefer 1 3/4", losing the 1/16" made a huge difference down the neck (much narrower).

As for for the RS, once they switched to the N2 profile, these have also become rare birds.

Anyway, I live about 25 mins south of Tampa. Anyone interested in trying either, just send me a PM. Happy to oblige.

Vince
