I am looking for someone who does pre shaped drop in saddles in bone. Bob is who I usually use but he isnt taking orders currently. Are there others?

Bummer, I was going to contact him this week for an order for a saddle and a shim set.

I just ordered a shim kit from him about 10 days ago and received it about 5 days later. So I think he's at least still sending those out right now, can't comment on saddles though.

OP: It might be good to specify what "Bob" you are talking about. That might promote a more productive discussion.

I think my web guy put my surgery announcement up on the home page to test it. He left it up by accident. Oooops. I don't even have the date scheduled yet so I have yet to be cut into pieces and am up and running.

I believe any competent tech/luthier can fabricate a bone saddle to spec. without much problem. On the either hand...after visiting Bob's website I don't think he'll be down for very long? MacNichol may also be able to help. If a drop in Martin blank Maury has them and I used him before.

My best wishes to you, Bob! I'll give you a ring tomorrow morning and see if you have anything in stock that can be shipped without getting in the way of your surgery. Hoping all goes well for you!

Thanks, folks...just having some spine fusion + clean up some vertebra smacking into my spinal cord. Neck relief adjustment...obvious pun. Funny thing is I've carved more bone than that doc will see in his lifetime....I could probably do it myself if I had the schematic. I really want my C3 - C6 compensated.

Had it done a few years back now - immediate relief from 20 years of persistent, worsening back pain.
All the best.

I've got L-4 sitting on L-5 and understand your pain...kind of? I've put it off forever but I fear it's coming for me too?

+1 for Macnichol saddles. An excellent alternative to Bob C. (I have saddles from both, plus bone pins from BC).

I fit a Macnichol saddle in my Taylor to replace the original saddle. A few months later I took the guitar to Elderly for a fret dress and tune up. They were pretty impressed with the saddle and said the intonation was spot-on. The fit was perfect.
