I found 80/20 strings brighten up the darker cedar

Congrats. Sounds and looks great! How's the neck profile? Comparable to ... ? Wish I could my hands on one to try out.

All my necks other than the Furch feel pretty similar, more or less the low modified oval feel. The Furch seems to be a bit thicker near the edges of the fretboard, kinda like the mlo neck with "hips". The neck is satin finished and is a touch noisy when I slide. I edited that out in my demo.

Thanks!

I'm getting used to the neck now. It doesn't feel as thick as yesterday. Its interesting how we adapt so quickly.

Congrats on your beautiful Cedar /IR Furch.
(Would love to play that one for a song or three.)

I picked up a Furch Dread (Orange D-SW) with Sitka / Walnut.
I love it! Can't put it down.
The fret ends, truss rod, tuners, fretboard radius, Hisock case and 25.6" scale length really are recommended.

Enjoy your Furch.

How does it feel compared to your J-45 neck (that's my touchstone)?

Using one of those soft cloth measuring tapes that a tailor would use the Furch neck at the 1st fret measures 4 3/4" around and the 7th fret measures about 5 3/16" around. The J-45 neck measures almost 4 1/2" at the 1st fret and just about 5" at the 7th.

Late to the party, but congrats! My yellow cedar/rosewood dread has lots of volume. Hope yours wakes up a bit. Beautiful tone, though.

Perfect, thanks for that. This tells me that the Furch neck will be comfortable for me. Down the GAS rabbit hole I go...
