I just had to call the guy at GC *again* (second time today for a Norman- related inquiry since I got home), to make sure my guitar is tucked safely in the back where strangers won't be manhandling it over the next 8 days. I've been assured Norman is off the sales floor, waiting for me to come back to pick him up.

He needs special care and feeding. I mean, he is a unicorn. Probably not in Canada where he's from originally, but around these parts I think he's going to be a bit of a "precious snowflake." In other words, perfect for me.

Plenty of photos and "bringing the new baby home" reports will be coming.
Perfect.....!

Congratulations! I haven't owned a Norman specifically, but I have owned other guitars made by Godin, and they have all been wonderful instruments. I"ve always found them to be about the easiest-playing instruments ever. Have fun with your beautiful CW!

Congrats Janine! Real happy for you. The Norman guitars (as part of the Godin family) are real nice guitars. Wish you all the best with your new guitar.

Congratulations!

The used section at GC is where you find the interesting stuff. The new stock is usually very generic.
I am new to the guitar but not to playing musical instruments. I got an amazing bass guitar there used (G&L with birdseye maple neck - gorgeous).
When I went to get my first classical guitar i tried everything on the shelf, at any price point. At the end I was drawn to an old Alvarez. (My teacher loves it. I messagee Alvarez on fb and was told it was early 90's made in Korea)
They did have a very nice C9 Cordoba, I could tell it was way better, but for a beginner like myself, $250 out the door is fine.

It had that "couldn't put it down" feeling that I was hoping for because that means I will play it a lot and improve that much faster.

I can't believe it's still seven more days to go. :/

IIRC, Normans were built around a molded plastic frame, and bracing system? I sort of remember seeing the frame of one in a Fresno music store 20+ years ago? The frame was displayed to show why they sounded so good....

Could be wrong. Often am.
It's exactly like pawn shops. GC sells used instruments under a pawn/resellers license.

The wait time varies by state, and sometimes municipality. In the old days, they would keep a used guitar in back until the pawn hold cleared. Now they normally just put them in the acoustic room (well the acoustics) because that is the room with the humidifiers. The Tag normally has the pawn release date on it.
