Stay safe AE. Broken snowblower? ouch. If you have the stamina go out a couple of times while it's still snowing. Makes it easier than doing it all in one shot. Of course, hiring a half ton truck with a plow is $30 worth while.

I'm expecting to lose power tomorrow afternoon when the snow storm changes to freezing rain and winds for a few hours.

The driveway has been sanded (all 1200 feet, by hand) and the generator tested and gas cans filled. Liquor cabinet is full. Fresh fill on the propane tank. We are ready to hunker down and enjoy the scenery! I love big snow storms. More so now that I'm retired and don't have to go out in it!!

Our weather guys are in love with the word ‘bombogenesis’. We’re forecast for 12-18 inches in the Connecticut Valley. I have a lesson with Toby Walker at 1pm tomorrow and that will be a good excuse to not clear the driveway until I really have to.

Exactly why I moved years ago. I've never had to shovel rain.

A bit further west than the OP, I'm hoping this tracks more east and we stay around 3-5".

Jeez, we're going to get a really cold day or two, but it would appear I don't have much to complain about. Stay warm guys and keep those humidifiers going!

Listening to the national news, you’d think it had never snowed on the east coast before.

As a Manhattan-based friend of mine said, “At most we will get 12 inches of snow in less than 24 hours. People are raiding supermarket shelves and hoarding supplies, which is absurd in this city. The streets will be plowed, sidewalks will be shoveled, and people will be able to walk to stores” and “What? A nor’easter in the northeast?? Somebody should have warned us!”

As for me, I live in Minnesota. Next?

We're on the R.I. coast....should be a "fun", nasty, quick event with tides being on major factor here. Light fluffy stuff which is a huge deal with helping not too much power going out.
But, like Scott we're in good shape with prep.....not sure I've the same liquor cabinet he has!
New generator in the garage......all set to go just in case. Getting set for an active day that's for sure.

70's and blue skies out here in North County San Diego.

I do not miss those East Coast blizzards at all.
