Default NGD: Eastman PCH3-D-CB

This was 100% an impulse buy for me. I was in the area grocery shopping and figured, well might as well pop by GC to see what they have (famous last words). I started by playing the new Gibson G-45 with “port.” Then played a few Taylors. Then I spied this dude hanging in the back tucked behind some Guilds. It had a “used” tag on it that said $349. I’d been considering getting an Eastman for a bit, but wanted to play one first. I picked this one up, started playing, and it followed me home.

I could just be in the GAS honeymoon/new guitar feeling phase, but I truly believe this is the best $350 acoustic I’ve played. It feels great and sounds pretty good too especially for laminated cocobolo back and sides. It appears that the previous owner made some cosmetic changes (black tuners, different pick guard, wood bridge pins with abalone dots, and they installed a saddle pickup). I know Eastman made a few different models that were limited edition. This one is the cocobolo version of the dread. It’s a gorgeous guitar, I plan on doing a deep clean and a string change tomorrow. Anyways enough story, on to the photos:

Congratulations that is a beauty! I love mine. PCH D CLA…has a rustic look. But the playability and tone for a relatively inexpensive guitar is exceptional. I find I reach for it often especially when trying to learn new things as the neck is extremely comfortable.

These are FABULOUS guitars, and not just for the money! They just sound so nice!

We are partial to the laminate maple, but have been selling all three varieties.

had no idea Eastman was doing cocobolo veneers on their laminated B&S guitars. that is gorgeous - and so affordable!

I had no idea how good Eastman are until I played a few. Thanks for your hospitality yesterday - I enjoyed the visit!

Congrats on a great find, and I agree with AMW 100%. I got a maple laminate PCH, and it sounds and plays great, regardless of price.
