Thanks Larry - been working on that one for a while so it's really nice to be able to put it out there. It goes down well in my local session too, and I believe I have managed to get one of the other guys to learn the tasty licks and fills that the second guitar played, and a few fiddle people to get going on the strings. If we can hook all that up it will be worth hearing.

Thanks so much. I agree with your view of the song - which makes it all the more daunting to take it for a spin. I'm so happy you think it was done well and thanks again for listening.

Coming in late and just picking up on this.

That was simply excellent. I listened to every note. You should be very pleased.

Regarding the other "licks" you envision: now that you have this take down, you can listen to it and "hear" where you want the new parts, whether they're changes, walk downs, or something else. You can play live along with the recording until you have what you hear in your mind.

Then, how about recording them alongside this track, into a second track on Garage Band? Then you can listen to them to see if they fit. You might end up liking the double-track, but even if you still want to do it all live, the recording(s) will speed up your practice.

Most enjoyable. Post the revised take when you have it.

Thank you - yes that is another one I like playing and singing. GL never wrote a bad song.

Thanks very much - good idea - I will do that.

I have another guitarist (very good player - blows me out of the water) in my local session who is agreeable to learning Red Shea's amazing riffs and fills. We have three or four fiddles to take on the strings (written by RAndy Newman I think) so it will be worth hearing if we can hook it all up...

Bumped in honour of Gordon Lightfoot. I feel a light has gone out in music.

...but stories, always end.
