1962 Gibson J-50 - $3000
This is the best sounding post 1940's Gibson acoustic I have ever played and an awesome folk guitar (see Bob Dylan). Beautiful natural patina. The neck was professionally reset and a new non adjustable bridge substituted at the same time. Two cracks (typical sound hole and center seam crack) both professionally cleated/repaired. No cracks on back or sides. A back brace was also reglued and a new pickguard applied. Good to go for the next 25 years at least, no functional issues. It's been played and had some repairs but that is reflected in the price.
Nut is true 1 11/16 and the neck is fuller (see picture), not the pencil thin Gibson necks of the later 1960s. Comes from a pet free, smoke free home. Comes with black hardshell case in good condition. Price is firm, no trades. Looking for a local Southern California sale at this time. We can meet up somewhere convenient for you to try out the guitar. Happy to provide more pictures or a recording of what it sounds like. PM me. Last edited by rjk4123; 07-30-2022 at 06:36 PM. |
