So I am guessing if I asked a Magic 8 Ball about chances of getting say a 12 fret L-00 with raised fingerboard or a J35 with three non-scalloped tone bars the answer would be "Don't Count On It."
I'd forgotten all about that Magic 8 Ball that used to reside on the coffee table when I was a kid. The funny thing was some people half way believed it. I was one of them....

I'd order a Songwriter Delux with different inlays, don't care for the ones that come standard. I'd also like some Abalone purfling. I'd get a matching 12-String too!

That's easy... In a world of magic, I would order a natural topped Hummingbird that would be braced like the early 70's Birds, but of course no one knows what I'm talking about, so there's that....

My number 1 request to the Gibson Custom Shop would be to make me a Les Paul that stays in tune. That is all....

I would like a banner era J45 with the neck of my 2019 J-200 ....but with banner period specific replica bracing. As far as the AGF consensus goes the Custom Historic series are not using "authentic" bracing.

Same here - that guitar has it all. But, if I could, I wouldn't mind having the pre-war pickguard with the multi-colored dots on there tbh that looks really cool to me.

Good point ... if you ever get the chance to buy one let me know ... I'd like one too.

A Gibson with a 1.75 nut width and 2 1/4 string spacing at the saddle.

I would order a J45 Mahogany top with creme button kluson tuners and a batwing guard.

An SJ200 without a mustache bridge and with a smaller pick guard. I would also go for a 1 3/4" nut width. For the finish, probably aged natural.

I love Gibson’s. I have bought numerous models new, used and vintage over the years, including J-45s, a J-35, a J-185 ec, a J-200, an Es-125, an es-125 T, a Robert Johnson Reissue L-1, several Banner lg-2s and a ‘47 lg-2.

I still have a couple of those, and I regret selling a few others. But the best of them all is a J-45 Standard 2019 that I bought earlier this year, online luck of the draw. It had been waiting for me.

I enjoyed it so much that I ordered a Vintage J-45 for the big bucks to try out and sent it back, the Standard was the superior guitar.

I think custom shop orders are a gamble.

A mini Hummingbird would be cool. Maybe even shorter scale than that.

The 12 fret AJ is an awesome concept. The tobacco burst they put on the run of these was nothing compared to the other more beautiful bursts that Gibson could do.

Absolutely. But a thick finish to make it glossy is a real tone killer. Martin had it right with their satin 15 Series guitars.

While we're at it, maybe a Dove with a more sedate rectangle bridge.

Unless I could guarantee 100% that the resulting (very expensive), guitar would play and sound exactly as I wanted it to, I wouldn't bother. That's the problem with custom builds, you can't try before you buy; I speak from experience-not with Gibson, obviously. Been down the custom build route with a well-known UK luthier and, while the guitars I got were spectacular and faultless in every way, they weren't 'me', if that makes any sense, and were quickly moved on.
If I were in the market for a Gibson I'd buy another Advanced Jumbo I could play first.
