Default "The Way I Feel" by Gordon Lightfoot performance and tutorial

This is a combined performance and tutorial on how to play Gordon Lightfoot's 1966 song "The Way I Feel" from his first "Lightfoot" album. I hope this is helpful.

Thanks for watching!

Thank you Jayne!

Very nice of you to take the time to comment! I'm sure you could figure this out for yourself, but if you wanted to try this, probably take the capo off and lower it a couple of notches.

I hope all is well for you! Stay safe!

Default Well done!!

GLenn.....again, as with all your posts, well done. The playing and singing are easy to listen to and the lesson, though I only watched a small bit, seems very user friendly. Would pay more attention but as a beginner myself, am involved with learning 27 different songs and felt I better leave this alone.

Thanks for posting.

Hi John,

Thanks for checking this out and thanks for taking time to give me a little feedback!

27 songs at once! Wow! Good for you!

Regarding this tutorial, you can always come back to it later when you feel you are more ready for this. I wish you well on your guitar journey!

Stay safe out there!

Hi Glenn, I just listened to the song and I will come back to the tutorial. But first I wanted to comment on your performance - your voice is such a powerful instrument, my friend! I love listening to you perform. I did not know this song, but it is a great one. Wonderful work, as always!

Glenn, that's the first time I've seen something like that (chord notation during the video). Did you dream that up? Kudos!

Hi Marty,

Yes, I guess I did come up with that showing of the chord diagrams along with the video. Also, I think I am the only one who has come up with the finger picking pattern diagrams in the 2nd part of the tutorial, where those diagrams are based around a particular chord and based on the 4 beats of a 4/4 measure, rather than using either notation or tablature. To me, these approaches seem as if they might be easier to grasp for some players -- they would have helped me, at any rate.

Thanks for your thoughts and comments Marty!
