Fantastic job. I downloaded it and will load it onto my IPOD, along with lots of other fantastic acoustic music I've gotten from AGF members.

Very nice, Joe - articulate but very flowing. You make that beautiful Bourgeois sing.

Smile Joe's Instructional Video

Did anyone happen to download Joe's instructional video on how to play Amazing Grace? Joe accidently deleted the video and he didn't make a backup copy. If you have the video and can post a link or email it to me, I would appreciate it.

I really want to learn how to play this arrangement, and unfortunately I don't have the natural talent to transcribe it myself.

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

It wasn't an accident -- I just thought it was a terrible video...

I would suggest the following:

- Tune your guitar in DADGAD
- Play the D, G and A chords to get familiar with your positions
- Play the melody using the first two strings
- Blend the parts together

I am flattered by your willingness to learn this arrangement -- but can assure you it's not worthy... This is played by ear, with all the pros and cons associated with such an approach. There are much better arrangements out there if you want to learn note for note.

Cheers,

Joe
