Arrow Santa Cruz 00-Skye African Blackwood & Old Growth Adi

For sale is a 00-Skye Cutaway / African Blackwood & Old Growth Adi

I am selling because I have determined that 1 13/16 nut is just too wide for my hands when combined with the V shaped neck. I bought it before I started seriously playing again, and I think I jumped the gun on such an expensive guitar before I really knew what worked for me.

Purchased on Reverb in early 2020, the seller claimed it had not been played, and when it arrived, I agree that it looked brand new. I probably put around 150 hours on it in 2.5 years - just couch playing. As I found myself not reaching for it more and more, I knew I'd end up selling it as my preferences started becoming more apparent.

There are some normal almost imperceptible light scratches here and there, and one small dent about the side of a pinhead (noted in pictures with a red arrow) that I found when snapping pics.

It has been kept properly stored in case when not in use, with 2 Oasis humidifiers during the winters and 1 during the summer. Located in Michigan.

Santa Cruz Guitars Eric Skye model # 912 completed in December of 2016.
Top: Old Growth Adirondack
Back/Sides: African Blackwood
Cutaway
24.9" Scale Length
Ebony Headstock veneer, Ebony fingerboard.
1 13/16 - Nut

Exact String spacing:

Nut: 1 9/16"
12th fret: 1 15/16"
Saddle: 2 1/4"

The list price on this instrument in 2016 was $12,400.
If not noted above, conforms to standard 00-Skye specs which can be found on their site.

Currently, just the upgrades are +5100 on Santa Cruz's site.

Price: NOW $6450 net to me (was: $6950/$7700/$7950/$8,500)

Open to trades for very specific spec'd instruments:
Bourgeois/Froggy/Circa OM or 000's with Cutaways & 25.5" scale / 1.75" nut / EIR or Brazilian. I would be open to cash added in either direction for valuation gaps.

Last couple pics here are from the Santa Cruz workshop.

I tried to take lots pics in various lighting/exposure. The guitar is SO classy in person with that dark straight grained wood!

That is one very special and very exceptional guitar! Wish I had what you wanted to offer, ‘cause it’d be a no-brainer -

Weekend bump. This one deserves to live outside its case!

This one sounds incredible and packs a serious punch if you play with Alaska picks or have nails.

It's also extremely balanced and has wonderful clarity -- it just sings!

Price drop - $7700 net to me

Suppose if this doesn't sell in 6 months I'll just keep it and try to find a way to surgically lengthen my stubby fingers for this wide nut!.

That is certainly a special guitar!! Wish I had room and free $. Seriously best of luck. I've seen (I don't think I played!) and heard Eric's original from SC and this with the Blackwood and Adi and cut looks amazing.

I love the sound of these Erics but I could quote some of the things said above. To my mind, Blackwood is the ultimate guitar wood. This guitar would make a beginner sound good.
