Default "Me & Julio Down by the School Yard" by Paul Simon (cover w/ my grandson)

https://youtu.be/ikKEJvMtfO8

I did this cover with two guitars, one in standard tuning, panned full left, the other using a Nashville high-strung guitar, panned full right. I enlisted my grandson, Sam, to whistle the solo and help with percussion at the end of the song. We both had fun with this; I hope you enjoy this!

The tempo is really up there, about 200 bpm!

Love it,,, one of my favorite Paul Simon tunes and one I cover also. The arrangement is just excellent and definitely captures the feel of the original.
Congrats to Sam, whistling is not near as easy as it appears

Very nice rendition of a cheery wee song. Love that you and your grandson worked on this together - I thought his input was excellent.

Super version of the Paul Simon composition that went #22 US Billboard for Simon in 1972 (#6 Canada, 1972). Really enjoyed it.

Another great one Glenn. I especially love it at the end when Sam looks over at his grandfather rocking out on those great cord changes with a big smile on his face that says “wow look at that guy go”.

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your kind words! I'm so glad you feel this came out well! And thanks for taking time to watch and comment!

I agree that whistling well is not easy. I thought I could pull it off but fairly quickly realized that while I was once a decent whistler, I have somehow lost it with age. On the other hand Sam goes around whistling all the time, so I asked if he'd help me out. I was really pleased that he wanted to do this, and he sounded good!

And in the end it was great to do a little project with my grandson!

I hope all is well for you and your wife, Kev! Take care!

- Glenn
