Default Waterloo WL-14L

No longer available

For sale is my Waterloo WL-14L (ladder braced) with the aged sunburst finish and toner option. The guitar is in excellent condition with no issues, just has some faint string winder marks on the side of the headstock (see pics, they are just marks not dents I believe) and the slightest sign of fret wear on two frets (it’s almost nonexistent). This is a very dynamic and responsive guitar, it’s very “quick” feeling for lack of a better term. It’s not even broken in and it's a great guitar already. I am only selling because I also have an X-braced WL14 and I don’t need both. I’ve owned the X-braced one for way longer and won't be parting with it. I have heard there’s a 2 year wait for a Waterloo guitar these days, not sure if that’s true or not but the WL-14’s are definitely harder to find these days. This is a nice one that is very clean and comes with the OHSC, which is in mint condition.

Default X vs L

What differences do you hear between the X braced vs the ladder braced?

I think the main difference I hear is the age and playing time between the two I have. The ladder braced one is tighter and not as broken in and has a tighter, more fundamental based sound, which is very even/clear across all strings. The X braced one is more open and loose feeling to me but it’s also more broken in as I said. Both sound good and play well too.

Thank you…. I have several vintage Kalamazoos, KG-14 & KHG-14, that I love and I believe that the Kalamazoo’s were the inspiration behind the Waterloo models….
