I got mine, this is a 2013 limited edition of the 1935 AJ. All hide glue construction, copied from a particular instrument owned by a well known collector. It's like a Gibson version of Martin's Authentic series.

It would be some take on the Advanced Jumbo. Not sure what which means I'd be content with the current model. Actually, a little less darkness (black color) on the top along the edges and more burst.

The entire AJ line is "copied" from Gray Burnettes' 1935 prototype. The question I would have for the Custom Shop would be are they willing to build me an AJ or any Gibson where say the ends of the bracing were not tucked into the lining which was typical of 1930s and 1940s guitars. The bracing in my 1930s and early-1940s Gibsons look like it was whittled with a dull boy scout knife

Executives at Wednesday’s ceremony said they plan to more than double the manufacturing space inside Bozeman’s acoustic facility. They also plan to build a custom shop and showroom, which will “celebrate the history and legendary quality of Gibson’s handcrafted acoustic guitars.”

I'm pretty happy with my J-185ec. Have often dreamed of a J-200.

Maybe a J-200 with a Custom neck profile to fit my small hands. Maybe even a 24-3/4" scale.

Beautiful natural Maple/Spruce for sure. No pickguard, No Electronics. Ebony Fretboard and mustache bridge. No inlay on bridge.

Crown inlays are fine on the bound fretboard. Chrome Grover tuners.

Bone nut, saddle, and bridge pins.

TKL Custom Shop case w/Red interior.

I guess I have options in my head after all.

Sounds like Martin envy. (Or at least copying their setup).

Personally, I wouldn’t order a one-off custom Gibson. Their newer guitars are just too inconsistent. I have been pretty impressed by their historic line which they call “custom” however. Those still aren’t as consistent as the Martin Authentics, to my ears, but the few I’ve played have been excellent. Id find a good historic rather than be looking at a custom one off (at least, sight unseen).
