I used to own quite a few Takamine guitars and still have two.
From my knowledge of owning a TSF-48C I recall the following information however I may be inaccurate on the production years:
The Takamine NP-48C was manufactured in Japan from about 1992-1999.
It has a 25.5” scale length, 1-11/16” bone nut, split Bone saddles with piezo pickups, parametric EQ, Takamine branded Gotoh tuners, Ebony fretboard and saddle, cedar top on on the lower NP-15 and I’m pretty sure (could be cedar?) spruce top on the NP-48. There are other models in between the tops of which I cannot speak to.
During the 1990’s and into the early 2000’s almost all Takamine Japan guitars had solid tops and laminated backs and sides.

N=NEX body shape. Takamine version of small jumbo body.
P=Parametric EQ
48=is the trim level
C=Cutaway

If there are errors it is because this info was from My memory and do not hold me responsible.

Blues.

Thanks for the info its a great playing guitar. I am pretty impressed with it so far, picked it up for what i think is a good deal. Of course its really hard to find a price point on these. They are all over the place. I Know from Serial number it was made in 93' it has been played for sure sound like you info is right on. it has a spruce top. Im pretty sure the back sides are laminate but seem to be pretty high quality and well constructed.

Takamine makes great playing guitars and use very high quality laminates to the point of competing with solid wood backs.
I’m glad you like it.

Enjoy

I just saw this on Reverb. It’s 1993 NOS NP-48C

https://reverb.com/item/5693312-1993-takamine-np-48c

I’d say MSRP was $1795 and street price was $1495
