Default Suggestions

Is there anyone out there that can help me out with finding some tunes. I got my first 12-string about a month ago and absolutely love it.

When I bought it I had been listening to a lot of songs that had twelves in them, mainly just on the radio or at open jams.

Short version: What are some good 12-string songs?

I understand anything can be played on a 12, but some things just sound awesome on a 12. And I can't seem to think of any now that I have one....LOL

"Eight Miles High" by the Byrds is the first song I played on my husband's 12-string.

I can't find the URL now, but there's a website with chords and tabs to Byrds songs, including some songs on which Roger McGuinn prepared the tab. Search for "byrds tab chords" on google and you should find it pretty quickly.

"San Fransisco Bay Blues" is a real killer on a 12-string. Listen to Eric Claptons version.
Beatles "Norwegian Wood" is nice too. Use a capo (I use Shubb) on the second fret and leave the E string (six:th) free. Hit the E string when the bass tones is needed.
Lennons Imagine is a real lullaby on a 12-string.
There are hundreds of songs as is good fitted on a 12 string. Play and enjoy.

"Thank You" by Led Zeppelin is a great 12 string tune

John Denver material is usually pretty nice on a 12 as well.

Hard Luck Woman - Kiss
Driver 8 - REM
Thing called love - Queen
Mr Tambourine Man - Byrds version
Feel Like Makin' Love - Bad Co.
Baby Blue - Badfinger - capo at the 4th fret and play it like an open G.
Hotel California - Eagles - they capo at the 7th fret and play like open Em, but who can sing that high? I put it at the 2nd fret.
Still you turn me on - ELP - drop D tuning.
Just one more.
Fire on High - ELO

I can't stop! Everything sounds good.

Pride and Joy - SRV. Instead of bending the notes, slide up to them.
Something for Nothing - Rush
Closer to the Heart - Rush
In the end - Rush
No More No More - Aerosmith
In Your Eyes - Jeffrey Gaines' version

There's more, but my fingers are tired just typing them in.
