Default Carvin Bolt HSS...

False alarm - just found out it only has a 1 5/8 nut - not going to happen!

Every few years (it's been about 10 now, I believe) I get the itch for an electric.

Normally doesn't last long, but I'm just curious what the consensus on these is.

One popped up on my local Craigslist that has some appeal.

Thanks in advance!

Been there!

I'm a G&L fan and they have had probably 8 neck profiles, two nut widths, and 3 radii are offered... Can't count the number of times a "dream guitar" at a great price became a no-go after a few questions. And I'm open to almost 15 percent of the combinations!

Forgot to add, Carvins are pretty darned good as long as you pay on the low end of the resale market. I'd give the same advice with G&L.

Yeah - with my main players at 1 13/16 steel and 52mm classical anything less than 1 11/16 just isn't goint to happen.

Been thinking about an Ibanez AM93 as it's slightly wider than that.

I get this. I got the bug (nudged on by some guys that I play with, who told me that I need to come over to the electric side for gigs) a little while back. The skinny necks and narrow nut widths made me go "ugh".

Then, I found an Eastman T184MX-LS (L'il Smokey) Thinline that has a 1-3/4" nut and typical Eastman C shape neck. Nirvana... for a little while, and now it sits in it's case. Lately, I've been thinking about selling it.

The Ibanez Johnny A?

Never seen one in the wild. Only online. The price is generally right and the pickups have a wee bit of a reputation for awesomeness!

I'd only get it because of the 41.3/ 1 5/8" nut. That's exactly what my EB Music Man's are. So comfortable but it's all down to hand preferences and I can totally get some hands thinking it's too narrow. But my MM neck was shaped by EVH and the original EB MM EVH was even more narrow. Which is just astounding to me. I don't know how large Eddie's hands were but he sure liked narrow necks.

I also mainly like 1 11/16" acoustic nuts and am about to get a 1 11/16" nylon guitar.

My hands are by no means the largest hands around.
