Just Arrived : Kevin Kopp L-02, Torrefied Adirondack, Mahogany, Relic'd Faded Cherry
A rare and exciting day when we have a new Kevin Kopp guitar to share! This is one of our first with Kevin's ultra-thin relic'd lacquer finish!
The L2 is Kevin's version of the famous L-00, one of the most popular folk and blues guitar shapes of all time. Comfortable and familiar, with high clarity and no small amount of attitude. We asked Kevin to throw everything he had at this one to make the tone transcend the size. He delivered, big time! Torrefied Adirondack spruce gives us not only great volume and quick response, but also a warmth and broken-in tone that is rarely found in a brand new instrument. Nobody will accuse you of having a shiny, precious new guitar when they see the careful and subtle relic work that Kevin performed on this instrument... the idea of pre-relic'd acoustics is somewhat controversial, but darned if we aren't starting to love it! Kevin is able to keep the finish at a bare-minimum of thickness, and that means that you can squeeze every ounce out of the sound of this box. Some tasteful finish checking and a few dings and scratches means that you won't be afraid to play the heck out of it. A first for us, we asked Kevin to give us his interpretation of "faded cherry" combined with his legendary hand-rubbed sunburst. Mahogany back, sides and neck. Short scale, with 1 3/4" nut width on a comfortable shallow "C" neck shape. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, bone pins and saddle. Pearl inlayed logo on figured ebony peghead overlay. Includes original TKL hard case. An absolute scorcher of a small guitar from Kevin Kopp! AMW Price: $5,795 (CALL for best price and NO SALES TAX outside PA!)
