1955 Martin D-28
1955 Martin D-28 AGF Price SOLD
For sale is a terrific 1955 Martin D28. This nicely aged Martin flagship model has the traditional nice low end, punchy mids but the trebles produced by the Brazilian Rosewood really sing. I recently had the frets replaced and had it set up, so the playability is spot on and very comfortable. The necks on the 50 martins are really one of my favorites. There has been a neck reset in the past, but one is not needed at this time. This comes with what appears to me to be a period correct and possibly original case. There are no top or side cracks but there are a few areas on the back that are either deep scratches or cracks, it’s really hard to tell. Either way they have been looked over by my luthier and are fixed/stable. The turners are original but it appears the bridge has been replaced with a ebony replica. It does appear the top has overspray although that seems to have been done some time ago. All of the other parts of the guitar (back, sides, headstock, etc.) appear to have an original finish. This guitar is ready to play day 1 on arrival. This is really a great vintage Martin with the traditional D-28 sound for an affordable price. I will accept trades for either other vintage mahogany back/sides gibsons or Martins OR accept trade offers for other flattops with a decent cash component. Feel free to make an offer!
